About this song:

I wrote this song in 2006 (maybe '07) and originally released it as "Bitter. Cold. Distant." on a solo Dave E. Nation titled "A Drink, To The Death Of Me" I wrote this song one night after a friend of mine got super drunk and angrily tried to choke me. At the time I felt very disconnected from everything and felt like I had no one to talk to. Even though I had a very tight group of friends, I felt like I didn't want to burden them with what I was internalizing and it seemed to me that anytime that I would try to verbalize, I got the feeling they didn't want to hear it. Everything just felt distant and cold. I know now that, depression and anxiety have a way of distorting how you see things and know that it really wasn't them not wanting to help or be there for me.
