About this song:

Also written in 2015 as "make like a tree (and get outta here)" and as one whole song rather than in two parts. I had demo'd the song and put it up on the dave e. nation bandcamp as "the depressionist" but it wasn't up for very long. It's about wanting to be something you feel like you can't. Using how you think people see you as a way to hold yourself back. And retreating further as you push people away who want to help you.

I am not an expert but I have noticed that in my experience, the times where the want and need to isolate are strongest, are the times we need to resist the most.

There are people who can help when we feel the most alone.
