About this song:

I originally wrote/recorded this song in 2006 on "If This Is All We Are..." The original title was "Any Reason To Hate You" This is another song that I have a love/hate relationship with. Again, love the music, melody and structure; hate the lyrics. I don't like the idea of trying to look for ways to hate someone just because you don't want to deal with real emotions and work at healthy ways to work on yourself. It's like the old saying "if you're not happy without it, you'll never be happy with it" You can't be happy with someone if you're not happy alone. I may not be happy, but I'm happy alone. However when I wrote this song, I was younger stupid and unable to see why that is wrong. I am older now and like to think that I know better and keep the negativity directed inward and not outward.

I changed the title to "Baggage Claim" because at an airport, that's where you pick up your bags, and I think that instead of trying to leave baggage behind, we need to claim it, carry it and learn from it. It's how we can grow as humans. If we try to forget our past mistakes, we will never get passed them and we will keep making them over and over again.
